Colour ways

As we have started to think about creating some sort of waterproof, detachable garment combining knit and water proof materials to protect us from the rising sea levels we now need to start thinking about colour.

This colour inspiration has came from:
- waterproof jackets and macs are usually bright, eye catching colours.

Bright colours may be used to change mood, if it is miserable outside and wet and cold bright colours may enhance the mood and make people feel better and uplifted.

 However designers branches such as Barbour go for a more natural approach with there colour palette which links in to my initial ideas of natural protection.

Water Resistant

As we are thinking about rising sea levels, I started to look at water itself and everyday water resistant materials..

Adapting to a changing climate

As a group we started to think about this idea of adapting to a changing climate and this idea of rising sea levels. We started looking at this idea of wet suits and the idea of using them as protection from the rising levels of water in everyday life as this is how people could have to live.

Neoprene is the main fabric which is used in wet suits..

The changing Climate

As we know the earth is changing all the time, climate change is becoming important and people need to be more aware of what is happening. I started to look briefly into what is going to happen in a few years and how people have started to adapt to this change in life style. One of the main effects is Rising sea levels.

Protective Clothing in the workforce

As I started to look into this protective idea and how we as humans are starting to adapt to climate change and environmental issues I started to look into how protective clothing is used in the work place.

I came across this special fabric KERMEL which is used to protect from heat, electrical and gas utilities.
