I found the idea of colour blindness an interesting concept to look into.
On my search I found some exciting and fascinating things.
I came across photographers Carolina Valtuille and Dominic Kraner’s work. They did a project with looked at colour through the eyes of someone colour blind.
I found these images fascinating; the colours in them are so textural and make them seem much more appealing. Most of the photographs are taken of the natural environment which I found interesting as it is something we see every day and almost ignore the beauty of it. As the colours have been manipulated in these photographs they make the environment feel more appealing and interesting.
Pulling colour out from the images to start thinking about colour assosiation.
Starting to think about textures and colours from the natural environment photographs.
After experimenting with the idea of colour blindness I kind of took another direction with my project. I started to think about how I could portray this idea of colour blindness into my practice. I liked the inital idea of the photographs being environmental so decided to look at landscapes and the natural environment thinking about colour invovled and seeing things differently.
